Drovers’ Huts
The idea of handcrafted luxury shepherds’ huts came from a love of travelling to remote places and wanting to bring that sense of retreat and comfort to the Chilterns. Our unique shepherds’ hut breaks offer guests the chance to slow down and immerse themselves in the peaceful countryside we’re so fortunate to call home.
Both huts have been designed and built exclusively to complement the rolling parkland of Stonor. Each have 360-degree views of the Chiltern Hills, with miles of footpaths, cycle ways and countryside right outside the door. Guests can expect true peace and quiet, luxurious touches and a deep connection with nature – from stargazing by the firepit to waking up to birdsong.
Each hut offers the same level of luxury but with its own character and mood.
You’re guaranteed a delightful stay in this traditional black tin shepherds’ hut, which is named for its stunning interiors made from a Redwood tree felled in Stonor Park. Inspired by trips made by Ailsa and William through the giant Redwood forests of California, it’s beautifully finished with fabrics by Bennison and has a climb-in king size bed. From £150 per night.
Finished with luxurious fittings and thoughtful details, the surprise of this beautiful oak cabin is its handcrafted oak four-poster bed – a soothing place to curl up after a day of adventures. Like Redwood, Quercus is insulated with sheep’s wool, has an ensuite bathroom with power shower and Commune toiletries. From £160 per night.
